This notice applies to the Linkify browser extension. Visits to this website, including the demo page, are also covered by the website privacy policy.
Provider and contact
Linkify is provided under the PP IT Solutions brand by Philipp Prohaszka IT Solutions e.U., Mühlbachweg 13b, 6175 Kematen in Tirol, Austria. Contact: philipp@prohaszka.at. Website: https://www.prohaszka.at/.
On-device processing
Linkify reads suitable text content and values in supported text fields on enabled websites to recognise HTTP and HTTPS addresses. Links are made clickable in page text and read-only textareas. In editable textareas and text or URL input fields, Ctrl+click (macOS: ⌘+click) opens the clicked address. This processing takes place exclusively in the browser on the device. Page content, field values and recognised addresses are processed only temporarily in memory and are not permanently stored by Linkify.
Stored website permissions
Linkify stores the addresses of enabled websites, consisting of the protocol and hostname, in the browser's local extension storage. These permissions are used solely to start processing automatically on websites enabled by the user. Linkify does not create a browsing history and does not use its own synchronisation service.
Transfers and third parties
Linkify has no backend, uses no analytics or telemetry services and does not load executable code from external servers. Page content, field values, detected addresses and website permissions are not transmitted to PP IT Solutions or external checking services. No advertising profiles are created and no data is sold.
Opening links
When you click, Ctrl+click or ⌘+click a recognised address, the browser opens the destination website. The usual network and privacy conditions of the browser and destination website apply. Linkify opens these links with noopener and noreferrer. The destination website's privacy conditions are independent of this notice.
Control and deletion
Processing can be disabled for each website through the Linkify popup. Linkify then removes its reading views and generated links, stops processing and deletes that website's entry from its local permissions. The associated optional website permission is released. Temporary processing caches are discarded. The browser also provides controls for managing extension permissions and removing the extension.
Support
If you send us a support enquiry, we receive the information you choose to include. Linkify does not send support messages or automatically add page content or diagnostic data to them. Please direct questions about Linkify and this privacy notice to philipp@prohaszka.at.
